Saturday - August 28, 2010 - Heritage Trail - Mountain Bike Ride

Ride Organiser: Robert Hind Robert@robert-hind.com
Organisers mobile tel: 0417 934 502
Ride style: Social
Ride type: Mountain Bike - non technical
Terrain: Steady Climb then Good descent
Estimated Distance: 45kms
Start Time: 8:30am
Start Point: Pechey Park (Car Park at the top of Morrison Road)

We'll do the easy mountain bike ride on the Heritage Trail. We'll take the track North of Great Eastern Highway up to Sawyers Valley. This a fairly easy, steady climb. Then we'll cross the highway and return on the side with a stop at Darlington for coffee / food. The return is mainly downhill and in parts quite fast.

For those of you who haven't done much mountain bike riding this is an excellent way to get accustomed to MTB rides. I'm not very confident off road (some might say I'm not that good on road either!!) but this is an enjoyable, non intimidating ride.

Ride style: Social
Ride type: Road
Terrain: some hills, but nothing too onerous
Estimated Distance: 45 km loop from Narrows

After several long minutes of thought, I am opting for the Riverton Rd - Kitchener Rd circuit in reverse. See the attached map.

You could describe the terrain as having "some hills, but nothing too onerous".
Coffee stop will be at De Nada in Brentwood.

8:00 start from Maylands, or 8:30 from Narrows South.
Distance = 45km loop from the Narrows.

Cheers,
Paul
